Android 14 Beta 2.1 Brings Fixes to Major Issues
As Android 14 is still in the beta stage, it continues to improve gradually as it makes its way to the final version, which is expected to arrive in a few months. Consequently, the Beta 2 that was announced during Google I/O 2023 was far from perfect and Google has now released Android 14 Beta 2.1 with corrections.
Intermediate Versions Make the Wait Easier
Google upholds the tradition of releasing intermediate versions to make the wait for the new beta more bearable and with fewer bugs. Specifically, eight major problems are fixed in Android 14 after installing this update.
Android 14 Update Schedule
The Android 14 update schedule is quite clear. After the first two Developer Previews at the start of the year came the public betas, one per month. Two weeks ago, the second beta was made official and the third, already with the final APIs, is pending for some time in June.
Waiting for the Third Beta
It will still be at least a week or two before we have a new beta and Google has chosen to fix bugs in an intermediate version rather than leaving the Google Pixels of users who have signed up for the Beta Program with unresolved issues.
Conclusion
Android 14 Beta 2.1 is a welcome update that fixes eight major issues in the Beta 2 version. It also serves to make the wait for the third beta, which is expected to arrive in June, less tedious.
