Recently, new tasks for Week 9 of Fortnite’s fifth season were released, and as is customary, one of the more challenging ones includes following a treasure map. Therefore, here’s how to do it if you want to finish the challenge and get those 10 battle stars.
Fortnite Week 9 Challenges
Like every other week, this one features three challenges for players in the free tier and four more for Battle Pass holders. The week’s challenges are listed below:
Free Tier:
- Deal Damage with Explosive Weapons to opponents
- Get Trick Points in a Shopping Cart or ATK
- Follow the treasure map found in Shifty Shafts (HARD)
Battle Pass:
- Search a Chest in Haunted Hills
- Visit different Stone Heads
- Assault Rifle Eliminations (HARD)
- Eliminate opponents in Tomato Temple (HARD)
How to Follow the Treasure Map in Shifty Shafts
Although the treasure map is quite easy to uncover inside Shifty Shafts, finding it is not absolutely necessary in order to obtain the battle star. After all, you can simply go there and get the star if you know where it is. The cliffs shown on the treasure map in Shifty are the ones that are directly to Dusty Divot’s south-west.
You just need to go to this specific location on the map and take the battle star when it appears on the cliff edge looking towards Salty Springs.
This task is rather simple to accomplish and will earn you 10 battle stars for your Battle Pass progression. For a better chance of avoiding opponents while you’re busy looking for the battle star, I’d advise using the Soaring 50’s option.
In any case, if you do come across an enemy, be polite and wait until they have collected the battle star before opening fire.
