How to Fix ChatGPT Not Working on Chrome?

OpenAI developed the AI chatbot known as ChatGPT. Any query receives human-like responses from it. However, ChatGPT might not load or function properly in your Chrome browser due to heavy user traffic. Here is a simple how-to for resolving the ChatGPT Not Working problem.

1. Change DNS

You can resolve server-related issues by changing your DNS; by default, a browser uses the DNS that is set by an ISP. However, you can try switching to another open DNS network to see if that fixes the ChatGPT not loading error. Your browsing speed won’t be impacted by changing your DNS.

Open Chrome Settings.
Click on Security and Privacy.
Click on the Security option.

Select customized DNS. Add custom DNS or use any listed DNS from the dropdown menu.

2. Disable Proxy or VPN

VPNs are useful for securing your internet activity and getting over any limitations. Even though ChatGPT functions without a problem with a VPN, occasionally a sluggish server response could result in an error. Therefore, it is best to disable the VPN proxy on your system and see if that fixes ChatGPT’s malfunction.

3. Clear Chrome Data

Type in chrome://settings/clearBrowserData in the URL Box. Clear Browsing Data dialog box will show up.
Click on the Advanced tab.
By default, cookies and other site data, cached images & files will bear a checkmark. If not, manually select these two options. Select the appropriate time range.
There is no need to select the Password/Sign-in Data; otherwise, the passwords you have saved to Chrome will be removed.
Once done, click on Clear Data.

4. Disable Browser Extension

Some browser add-ons can obstruct ChatGPT’s operation and render it unusable. Extensions can be disabled to assist identify whether one or more of them are the source of the issue.

By following these steps, you can disable browser extensions in Google Chrome:

Launch Google Chrome.
Enter chrome://extensions/ in the URL box.
Find the extension you want to turn off and click the switch.
