In iOS 13 and the iPad OS, Apple has combined the Find My Friends and Find My iPhone apps and given them the moniker Find My. From the perspective of the user experience, I believe it is a well-planned change. Although there isn’t much new in terms of functionality, the app has made a lot of changes, such as making it simpler to get location updates from others. If you want to know where your friend or loved one is at all times but aren’t sure how to do it, keep reading as I demonstrate how to use the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad to get location updates from friends.
Receive Location Updates from Friends Using Find My
Find My App automatically notifies you of everyone’s location updates, including those from people you don’t share your location with. There is an option to limit the people you receive notifications from to those you disclose your location with, just in case. So with that, let’s get started!
1. On your device, launch Find My App.
2. Next, tap the People tab and choose the buddy whose location updates you wish to receive.
3. To find out more, swipe your friend’s card up. In the Notifications section, click Add.
4. Then, from the pop-up menu, select the Notify Me option.
The end! The chosen pals will now send you updates on their locations. Simply return to the same notification section of the person’s card and turn off the feature if you ever change your mind.
Choose to Receive Location Updates from Everyone or Only with People You Share Your Location
1. On your iPad or iPhone, launch Find Myapp.
2. Next, select Metab from the menu in the bottom right corner.
3. After that, tap “Receive Location Updates” after swiping up from the bottom to see more information.
4. You now have two choices:
- Everyone: Receive updates from everyone.
- People You Share With: Receive updates only from the people you share your location with.
You can move forward after choosing your favourite choice.
Get Location Updates from Friends Using Find My App
