Users have been requesting a native Google tool to capture the Chromebook’s screen for years. There are a few Chrome extensions that work reasonably well, but they demand high prices to grant access to even the most basic functionality. Thus, the news that Google would finally include a native screen recorder on Chromebooks in 2020 seemed encouraging. For about two years now, the feature has been accessible on the stable channel. Not to add that Google has since released a new Screencast software for Chrome OS, giving Chromebooks access to sophisticated screen recording features like annotation, webcam view, transcription, and more. 1. Open the Quick Settings menu in the bottom-right corner of your Chromebook to start recording the screen. Here is a tile that says “Screen capture,” which you can click to open. Notably, the built-in Chromebook screen recorder does not internally capture device audio. It merely uses the microphone to record audio of whatever is playing on your Chromebook. Go to the final part if you wish to internally record the audio device.

One of the best Chrome extensions for Chromebooks allows you to record the internal sounds. Additional advanced functions include audio recording from the microphone, webcam view, and more. The process is as follows:
1. Install the Nimbus Screen Recorder tool by clicking this link.
2. After that, select Record Video from the extension toolbar and open the extension.
3. Select Record Tab Sound and Tab the bottom here. If you’d like, you can turn off the microphone sound toggle. Take note that the Chrome tabs are the only places where the internal audio recording option is accessible.
4. The final step is to click “Start Record.” Using this Chrome extension, you can now record the Chromebook’s screen together with the audio from the device.
