The world’s most used streaming service is by far Netflix. It is used by more than 75 million people and offers a wide range of shows that are only available on Netflix. Netflix is now accessible in virtual reality on the Google Daydream VR platform in addition to popular headsets like the Oculus and Samsung Gear VR. Here’s how to use Netflix VR with the Daydream View headset if you have one of those devices and a compatible phone, such as the Google Pixel or the Moto Z Droid:
Setting Up Netflix VR with Daydream View Headset
The Netflix VR app installation procedure is fairly simple. If you enter “Netflix VR” into the play store, the company’s official VR app will undoubtedly come up as the top result. You can just download it to a phone that supports Daydream and insert it into the Daydream View headset.
When you first open the app, you will be prompted to sign in or create an account. If you’ve never used Netflix before, you can sign up for a free trial before having to pay a monthly fee to access the content.
You will be required to enter your credit card information during setup, but don’t worry—you won’t be charged until your free month has expired. Additionally, your subscription can be upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled whenever you like.

Netflix VR on Google Daydream: The Experience
You will be taken directly to the app’s home screen after setting up (or logging into) the Netflix app. You can directly stream the most popular TV shows and films from this page. There is a search option as well, making it simple to find your favourite shows. You may also categorise the programmes, which makes it much simpler to locate the kinds of shows you are most interested in watching.
These programmes are obviously not produced for virtual reality, hence the programme itself is not a VR experience. But Netflix has done a fantastic job of improving the app. In the app, you are lying on a couch with a huge Netflix screen in front of you, giving the impression that you have a massive TV mounted on your wall. The space has been planned to provide the ideal atmosphere for watching TV. The space has excellent detail and the ambient lighting is ideal. There are windows with views of the mountains outside if you look around (clearly, we re in a rather beautiful place). Posters for some of the more well-known concerts can be found on your right.
When you start streaming a TV show or a movie, you’ll notice that the lights go off so that you can concentrate on the show without being distracted. Overall, Netflix did a great job creating their VR app for Daydream, and you will undoubtedly like it. There is a remote on our side, some magazines, a coffee mug, and other thoughtful finishing touches on the table in front. All I want to do is grab that and drink it while watching House of Cards.

You can now watch your favourite TV episodes and movies in virtual reality thanks to Netflix’s official Daydream VR launch. All of this while seated in a space that can only be characterised as exceptionally beautifully designed. As long as you realise that viewing TV shows in virtual reality for an extended period of time can very easily strain your eyes, I think you’ll like the experience. For those of us that binge watch, VR is obviously not quite there yet. However, it is absolutely worth your time, so I suggest you give it a chance. Both you and I agreed that it was fantastic.
